Two Thousand Years Ago

Two Thousand Years Ago

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I am leaving to taste your lonely dreams.
I come back to bring you
the forbidden fruit that has not yet matured.
Silence does not fit the words here,
it does not feed us with light.

We are having fun with life again,
love is not allowed to enter
our cathedral.
God, your term of office ended
two thousand years ago.

Lucifer, why are you so sad?
Has your light gone out?
I am writing you another farewell letter,
hiding it in the drawer again.
The soul, caught in spider threads,
is dying in the uterus
of your hands.

Your warm fear soothes my nightmares,
allows me to fall asleep before
the local apocalypse ends.
God, you breathe my air,
why have your archangels abandoned you?
Why is the pain you gave me
on my thirtieth birthday forever?

Your incapacitated senses are waiting for
you to tear the last photo.
Your heart consumes an endless
abandoned shadow.

Oh my goodness.. where to start..
Really wonderful poem..
Each line responds with meaning..Metaphors are everywhere..
Loved it,

So much heartbreak... And I can see why you might rail against God. A soul lost. A banshee wail in the night.
I can't began to type the emotions this stirs up. An amazing piece.
