The Blue Night of Your Eyes

The Blue Night of Your Eyes

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I sink into the blue night
of your eyes.
I taste in your heart,
in your tame dream.

I don't want this eternity
to end.
Your unfulfilled loneliness
is as sad as the death of a dream.

The stigma of time hurts,
I lack air to share with you.
I collect your traces,
still warm.

These are the tracks that lead to
the gate of my new paradise.
Do not lie against your longing,
do not save my thorny body.

Despite my distraction,
my love is the shadow of light
that I still try to catch,
that I still want to feel.

The last glance flies away
with the birds seeking a better sky,
waiting for a favorable wind.

Don't be afraid of longing,
it means your fear is not alone.

"Don't be afraid of longing,
it means your fear is not alone." There is so much truth in these two lines that anyone who has ever loved can relate to. A solid piece of poetry that speaks to the heart of the reader.
