My Betrayed Smile

My Betrayed Smile

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Our confused senses
do not want light.
Our lost memories
do not need time to continue to exist.

When you can't see, I steal your sky,
enjoy the Sun, die in the arms
of black stars.
And when you see me,
don't say pain is more beautiful
than loneliness.

Don't require silence from my heart.
Be careful that time flows in one direction.
Will you let me see
the dark mist of your soul?
Will you give me one Moon to keep
my modern legends?

I cannot explain to you
why I have so much hated faith.
You play this primitive game again,
you take away the last flame
of my shadow from me again.

Your whisper echoes
in my perfect solitude.
Ever since godly shame arose in us,
my dreams have turned their faces.

Don't worry about my birthday,
avoid the green light
in which I cuddle my betrayed smile.

Beautiful poem. I would like to catch your exact motifs. Can there be a perfect solitude? Maybe outside stillness, cause even so, inside the mind and heart, there’s far from solitude as long as someone’s constantly tormenting them so vividly that can make loneliness hurt more and solitude - a question
