Our Antipodes

Our Antipodes

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

The night where our antipodes meet
is indestructible.
The star that brightens
the way
to immortality is unbeatable.

I am hiding behind this thick wall
that has taken away my innocence,
which has robbed my heart
of nobility.

The first-born time is tormenting me,
the body that teases me
has been out of fashion
for many decades.

Would you be able to pick up
my first tear from the table?
Could you lie to me in the name
of truth?

You hid my whole world
behind the scenes of heaven.
I wish this world would wake me up
from happiness I got
instead of you.

What we call a soul
is just an innocent fantasy.
Help me pick up this cross
and hit the road.

Yes, we all have our Cross to bear... in the meantime, we can be kind to our fellow men and women. Often times we fall... and then pick ourselves up and away to a brighter day. tenderly, Pat
