The Pearl of the WordA Poem by Katarzyna Anna KoziorowskaMy thoughts are sad and lonely. The time we have left does not beg for mercy. I lock the last of my fear in a heart-shaped box, hide in a drawer what was once called your soul. The pearl of the word presses my tongue, the dreamed past is ashamed of its beauty. Come see my dreams bloom. Feel your bitten life bleeding. Frosty fire sleeps in my blue hands. Love was sentenced to life imprisonment. Loneliness will remain incapacitated. Leave me as a souvenir the lost echo of your whisper. Give me a hurried kiss I will hang on the wall.
