Do Not Close the Window

Do Not Close the Window

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I look obedient from behind
the curtain of your eyelid.
My body craves a bit of honesty.
My destiny dreams of a hint of
miraculous faith
in the unknown.

You put on a smile that is so hard to
meet in this reality.
You put a few thoughts in your head
to help you look down.

My love is dying in the depths
of greed, life pretends to
stumble over the white stone
of hope.
My heart is made of paper,
my conscience has been politely washed
and put away for later.

Do not close the window,
leave the door open.
The cake from yesterday's twilight
is still soft.

Lonely tears smell like you.

You are an expert of emotions. here, there are some really deep profound ones the wonderful about your pen that You speak them with clarity, with calmness, not in a messy way. many do this when they are expressing their deep feelings specially with pain, bringing it out all over the place and the reader will feel lost. but You did not as I've said and that's why I said You are an expert of feelings. no deny of a big wound there, yet this feels as a healing, a let go... because in letting go faith and hope grow. well... now your last line is absolutely breathtakingly creative :> all the best my friend❤️

later may never come if love is dying, but if the door is still open, that cake is still as fresh as the love once was.
decorate it with kisses, and to hell with reality.
That which we make up is always better than that which is.

Is there anything more dangerous for a paper heart than tears?

Hope has run out here. The future uncertain. Another strong emotional write which touches the reader. Heartache is not a friend. Great poetic expression Katarzyna.

The sad words of a broken heart... Only a heart of stone would not break. Nicely written.
