The Rose in My Lips

The Rose in My Lips

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Where are you going tonight?
Are you taking my love
with you?
I would like to smell your soul,
get to know the taste
of your body.

Since I died, the world has become
more beautiful for you.
Since I found the right time
to admit my guilt, God has regained
his good mood.

I am trying to tame you,
my faithful morning,
I am trying to make you a happy name.
The day someone took
my loneliness away from me,
I felt the real softness
of your thoughts.

I do not want to leave, though the rose
in my lips is blooming.

" I heard a Fly buzz - when I died
The Stillness in the Room
Was like the Stillness in the Air
Between the Heaves of Storm " Emily Dickinson

The rose is love and love is eternal but the rose is not. But what blooms from love and memory may yet be. Lovely poem. F.
