Waiting for Emptiness

Waiting for Emptiness

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Do not feed my stars
with warm, oily blood.
Do not feed the words of silence
waiting for emptiness.

It hurts, fear hurts
so much.

Your thought burst in a corner
of my desolate head.
I pick up this wounded time off
the floor, roll an unnecessary tear
in my fingers.

Do not trust my melancholy,
it can stomp without a prologue.
I am blind, I am humiliated,
the light does not understand
my intrusive words.

Do not make your dreams breathe,
dreams that will never come true,
that elude the self-preservation instinct.

I walk away,
wrapped in warm, soft wings
of a guardian angel.
