Chapter 10 Phantom (also called a wish come true)

Still alive. I kept fighting almost exhausted. I struck a soldier down but didn't kill him.

“I will let you live,” I said.

“As a example of mercy.” The soldier stood up thanked me and left.

The sirens let me rest. Outside I could hear them chanting.

“Phantom,Phantom!”

That's all they said. I saw Vesper approaching me. I turned and stared at her. She looked nervous.

“Why did you come?” She asked.

“To rescue you.” I said.

“You won't survive.” Vesper said.

“Don't worry.” I said.

“I've seen this man fight.” Vesper said.

“And how tough?” I asked.

“More than you.” Vesper said.

I didn't show any sign of fear but in mind I could tell you readers, I was afraid. I stepped outside onto the battle field. The sirens were quiet which was very odd.

“Pullus,” The king shouted.

“You can back out now if you want to,”

“but if not, suffer the wrath of Phantom!” He said.

I glanced around.

“Where is he?” I asked.

The king pointed. I looked where his pointed finger directed. Standing there, on a hill was a black figure, he had knives,knives and more knives. He had one sword, and a boomerang. He was hooded so I couldn't see his face. He definitely fitted his name.

“If you back down,” The king said.

“He won't harm you.” Phantom stood there.

I could see his eyes. They were red.

“You can leave.” Phantom said.

He sounded dark and malicious.

“Why would I leave this queen here with a tyrant?” I asked.

Phantom laughed. His laugh shook the whole foundation. I stood there.

“Phantom, give me a good reason why I should leave.” I said.

“More powerful,more skilled I am.” Phantom said.

He shot me a evil look.

“In that case,” I said.

I turned to the king.

“I will fight him.” I said.

The crowd roared. Phantom smiled.

“Prepare to be creamed.” He said.

He walked into the battle area and took out a knife. He threw it at me. I caught it and sent it back at him. Surprised he dodged it and sent back three more. I flipped, caught and sent back all three.

“You underestimated me.” I said.

“For now.” Phantom snarled.

We continued fighting no one showed signs of exhaustion. No matter what he did I managed to block him. He slammed his sword into mine and I punched him in the face. He knocked me over. I rolled and tripped him. He jumped on me and we tussled on the ground. I kicked him in the chest, and sent him flying. I stood up and pointed my sword at him.

“Give in.” I said.

He threw a knife at me. It cut me as it went by. It was just a small slash. I jumped on him and tussled with him for a while. I slammed him into the dirt again. I jumped off him and took out my sword.

“Done yet?” I asked.

He stood up.

“Not yet.” He said.

He spun around and jammed my sword with his. Our swords clanged as we fought. I kicked him in the face knocking him over. I spun around and punched him two times. I stood there. He stood and we fought some more. With a-little magic I set my sword on fire. Phantom set his on fire too. Mine was blue his was purple. We started shooting fire at each other. He spun around sending a circle of fire at me. I jumped over and fired. I roared. My fire slammed with his. Our minds battled each other. Both our fires pushed. Finally our fire extinguished. I jumped at him. We fought some more. I blasted Phantom with fire. He fired back. I spun and dodged and blasted him back. I turned and shot a blazing blue and purple and green blast. And from Vesper's eyes she thought she saw a dragon in my place. And just not any, a Japanese dragon. The dragon flew and fired more blazing heat. The dragon spun and slammed the black warrior with it's tail. He flapped his wings and sent the warrior flying backwards. The dragon roared in fury. The Phantom shot a knife at the creature and hit it in the side. The dragon disintegrated and I was in it's place. Vesper was so surprised that she cheered.

“Go Pullus!” She shouted.

Her voice distracted me. That gave Phantom enough time to give me a good intentioned stab. Fortis all of the sudden jumped down and took out his own sword and started fighting the Phantom. I collapsed for a moment then got back up. Picked up a knife and threw it. It hit Phantom. He spun around and hit the dirt. I smiled. Fortis stood and grinned at me. I groaned.

“That was more pain than I expected.” I said.

Fortis shrugged.

“You weren't expecting to get harmed eh?” He asked.

“Well a small stab won't knock me dead.” I said.

I turned to Vesper who had flown down next to me. Fortis bowed.

“Thank-you Fortis.” Vesper said.

I shook his hand.

“Yes thank-you.” I said.

“No trouble.” Fortis said.

At the corner of my eye I saw a flash of light coming from Phantom. Then I heard Vesper grunt. A knife flashed evilly in her chest. Full of fury I blasted Phantom with not blue, not green not yellow but blazing black fire. Fortis managed to pull the knife out of Vesper.

“How bad?” I asked.

“She'll be fine just watch her carefully.” Fortis said.

I helped Vesper to the gates. We left the place without apprehension and proceeded to move upwards. The water whooshed around us and we found ourselves on dry land.

“Well I stop here.” Fortis said.

“Thanks for all you did.” I said.

“One day our paths will clash again.” Fortis said.

Vesper smiled.

“If it wasn't for you Fortis, Pullus wouldn't be alive.” She said.

Fortis smiled. “

Your welcome Vesper.” Fortis smiled.

I jumped on her and she took off. I watched as Fortis smiled and shook his head and went to his house.

“Good-bye Fortis.” I thought.

“Until next time.”Fortis replied. I smiled.

“You did it!” Vesper yelled.

“What?” I asked.

“Can't hear you above the wind!” I shouted.

Vesper spun around and landed at our house. I jumped off her. She spun around and stared directly at me.

“You were a dragon!” She shouted gleefully.

“I can't believe it happened.” She said.

“You flew and roared and blew fire.” She said.

I looked surprised.

“Actually I didn't know what I was doing.” I said.

“Oh, yes you did dear.” Vesper purred.

I smiled.

“Well,” I said.

“That was some adventure.”

“It isn't over.” Vesper said.

She winked at me.

“No!” I said excitedly.

“Listen.” She said.

I put my ear to her side. I could hear squeaks.

“How many?” I asked.

“One.” Vesper said.

I couldn't hold myself in.

“I'm gonna be a father!” I shouted.

The sun was setting while this happened. I stood up and cheered.

“Whoo,” I shouted.

“Hear me world, I'm gonna be a dad!” I thrusted my arms in the air.

I went on and on as we flew for home.

“Pullus I want you to go to the village and get some engrave-meant tools when we land.” Vesper said.

I knew she just wanted me out of the way. But that gave her room to relax. And it gave me time to think of a name. So I left.
