Chapter 2: Dragon LanguageA Chapter by KornezChapter 2 Dragon language My name is Boy, I was born to my mom. My sister was born before I was and that really didn't help me much. Since my mom couldn't think of interesting names for us she just gave us names that would make sense. I was named Boy and my older sibling was named sister. When I was about eleven my dad left. He couldn't stand us. My mom died shortly after and my sister soon took the role of 'head of the house'. More like 'monster nagger of the house!' I never liked being younger but somehow that seemed to be an advantage. My sister gently schooled me throughout the years and taught me what she could, it wasn't the best but it was all she knew. When I turned Fifteen my sister made me do all the hunting. That's where I met Vesper. So that pretty much sums up my life. And I am still thinking about this test I just mentioned about. Before this test happened my sister wished for a fish bowl and a row boat. While I was at the cave Vesper said to me. “Its time you learned our language.” I was excited, I had never known her real language. “The first thing you will learn is the ABC's in dragon,” Vesper said. “Aner,” “Is the first letter.” Vesper said. I learned a lot in the ABC's of dragon but I wanted to learn more. “What does Flyn mean?” I asked. “It means father.” Vesper replied. “ko?” I asked. “Brother.” Vesper replied. “to?” I asked. “friend.” She replied. “There are tons of things you can learn in the dragon language and words you can put together,” Vesper said. “But it takes a real good dragon guy to do that.” That night I had learned every little thing imaginable. “What does fire mean in dragon?” I asked. “Ignus.” Vesper said. “That's Latin!” I said. “Most of the dragon words are based on Latin, and names are too.” Vesper sighed. I nodded thoughtfully. “What are claw-notes?” I asked. “Claw-notes are dragon words written in different ways and lines, it drives the human eye crazy but not ours. Our eyes are much more advanced, so if we want to leave a claw-note we scribble.” Vesper explained. I nodded. “So how do I read them?” I asked. “Just flip the paper.” Vesper advised. “Is there anything else?” I asked. “There is a code us dragons follow.” Vesper said. “And?” I pushed. “There are certain things we cannot do that is what the code is.” “So it is a don't do this or that will happen?” I asked. “Yes.” Vesper said. “So if you break these laws horrid things will happen?” I asked. “Just like getting to greedy for your own gain.” Vesper said. “I better get back before sister kills me.” I said. I never knew that I would use this language later on in life, and that my sister would finally turn on me. The talk I had with Vesper was still rolling in my head. © 2016 Kornez |
