Chapter 15: The darkness of Truth itself

Rexor had been up to no good while Johnny had been gone, when they saw what was left of Sun City they knew they had little time. The family reunited, Joe, Johnny, Grace and Melzo at the outside wall. Everyone was grave.

“The only place left intact is the palace,” Said Joe.

“Don't worry son,” Said Melzo.

“We're going to end this tyrant once and for all.”

They walked toward the palace doors and broke them down. Rexor was sitting on his throne with a strange scepter.

“Well if it isn't Johnny and the outcast and-”

Rexor saw Melzo and a brief look of fear flashed in his eyes.

“The traitor,” Said Rexor.

“The only traitor here, is you Rexor,” Said Melzo

“Are you sure?” Asked Rexor grinning.

“I wanted to make this pathetic place an empire, to wipe out the Clouds was more then simple, it was effortless.” Said Rexor.

“You've lost this round Rexor,” Said Melzo.

“There are four of us and one of you,” Said Grace.

“Sorry, weren't all of you leaving?” Rexor asked.

He thrusted his scepter forward and sent the group flying backwards.

“I've waited too long for this moment!” Rexor shouted.

Johnny slammed his sword into the ground trying to slow his flight. He slid off a cliff and hung there.

“Well this is grand,” Grunted Johnny.

“Need a hand?” A deep voice asked.

A gloved hand reached down and Johnny grabbed it. A boy, no older than Johnny stood there. His clothes were worn from battles, his sword clasped to his belt.

“I better get back, my lizard might be worried.” said he.

“You have a lizard, what kind?” Johnny asked.

“A flying lizard,” Said the boy.

He picked up a wood framed pack and slowly walked away.

“Why do you have only one gloved hand?” Asked Johnny.

“I burned this hand on a stove, it's really embarrassing,” Said the boy.

“My sword is called Light speed, what's yours?” Johnny asked.

“I can't tell you what it's name is, but I can tell you what it means,” Said the boy.

“Fire,”

“Well my name is Johnny, what's yours?” Johnny asked.

“I can't tell you mine,” said The boy.

“The one who ban break minds might be listening, or my brother might be lurking.” Said he walking away.

He looked over at Sun City.

“Your duty is over there,” Said he pointing.

Johnny watched till he was gone.

“Nice fellow.” he muttered. Johnny rushed back to the battle field. Rexor was blowing up houses and searching for whoever he could find.

“Rexor over here!” Johnny shouted.

Rexor spun around and saw Johnny. Johnny charged and Rexor spun his scepter into a sword. Johnny and he fought, bother were almost equally matched. Johnny knocked the vile scepter from Rexor's hand, but before he was able to do anything Sunny appeared. Rexor laughed when Sunny told Johnny not to harm him.

“Your mother always was a bit treacherous,” said Rexor.

Melzo and Joe stared at Sunny in surprise.

“Mom?” Gasped Joe.

“Dear?” Asked Melzo.

“It's true,” Said Sunny sadly.

“All the darkness when the truth is told,” Said Darkness appearing.

“Well, if it isn't Truth the first,” Said Melzo

Johnny stared at Darkness.

“That name means nothing to me,” said Darkness.

He glared at Johnny.

“You were, in love, with your own mother, isn't that just appalling when the person you love is really the person who bore you,” said Darkness.

“You didn't tell him?” Asked Melzo surprised.

“Quiet you, there is somethings even Johnny cannot understand,” Roared Darkness.

“Fight him Johnny, let's defeat this monster,” Said Warrior.

“For once, I agree,” Said Johnny.

“One on one,” Said Darkness.

“I'm not afraid of you Darkness, for I know what and who you really are,” Said Johnny.

The whole place seemed to darken.

“They didn't call me Darkness for nothing,” Growled Truth the first.

It was dark, Johnny couldn't see anything.

“Welcome, to my world,” Said Darkness.

“I'm not the one hiding in this blackness,” Said Johnny.

Darkness appeared.

“True,” Said he.

“But I'm not the one who has a big mouth.”

Their swords clanged together.

“Tell me the truth,” Johnny shouted.

“How does it work, being evil?” He asked.

“At least I have a reason to destroy Sun city,” Said Darkness.

There were echoes of laughter.

“Fight Johnny!” Warrior shouted.

Johnny spun around and blocked Darkness's sword.

“Why Darkness, why did you give into such worldly pleasures?” Johnny asked.

“You think your perfect, I beg to differ,” Roared Darkness.

He pushed Johnny over and disappeared.

“I know the truth Darkness,” Said Johnny slowly standing.

The black twister seemed to quiet.

“You fell, because you couldn't fight,, you wanted to win through other means, you lost sight of the mercy you used to know so much of,” Said Johnny.

“It's like me and my home,” Said Johnny.

“If forgot what it looked like, until Dr. Smart showed me through a telescope.”

Darkness slowly reappeared.

“The world I saw, was fallen, and decayed,” Said Darkness.

“This world is falling apart yes, but every world will die one way or another, it's inevitable, but a world is always reborn, thus ends one world, thus begins another,” Said Johnny.

“Your saying, that even your world is not perfect?”Asked Darkness.

“But even with it's imperfection, I hope that it's ruler can rule it justly in his time,” Said Johnny.

“You want me, to forgive Sun City?” Darkness asked.

“If you can,” Said Johnny.

“You have to die,” Said Darkness.

“I know,” said Johnny.

He stabbed Darkness with his knife.

“But on the safe side, your coming with me,” Said Johnny.

The whole place shook as the being of eternal blackness vanished forever. Johnny collapsed.

“My fight is finished.” Said Warrior.

“I know Warrior,” Said Johnny.

“I won't forget you Johnny, I will always remember the fun we had,” Said Warrior.

When Johnny opened his eyes, he was in a hospital bed. Rexor, Grace, Sunny, Joe and Melzo were all standing with the doctors.

“We're taking you home Johnny,” Said Sunny smiling. Home it was the best word Johnny heard in years.
