Chapter 12: Destroying the slave trade

The slave trade is a monstrous way to gain money. Selling your own flesh and blood or someone else's flesh and blood is insane. But unfortunately for the world and Sun city, slaves had become the most popular trade. Johnny hadn't been to the palace in a while, he had been so busy dealing with outside matters that he quiet forgot the real problem was on the inside. Johnny was walking toward the palace when he saw a small platform with a group of people standing in front of it and a man standing on top shouting prices. Johnny froze in mere astonishment when the man pulled up a child and shouted a price. Johnny in fury ran up to the stage, jumped on and pushed the trader back.

What is this?” He yelled.

The trader looked nervous. Johnny turned to the child.

Where are your parents?” He asked.

He burned down our entire village,” Said the child.

Johnny stared at the slave trader in horror. The man looked even more nervous. Johnny saw the rest of the slaves that the trader had. Both men, women, girls and boys stood looking miserable.

Blame king Rexor,” said the trader.

He let it pass.”

Johnny was dumbfounded. He turned and stormed of the platform. He pulled open two doors to the place and slammed them shut. He stood there glaring at the king.

What is this?” He asked.

It's the slave trade,” Said the king in a careless way.

Has this nation become lazy?” Roared Johnny.

We are selling prisoners of war,” Said Rexor.

You don't sell prisoners, you either let them go back to their country or you execute them,” Growled Johnny.

I'm surprised your so into our plotics Warrior,” Said the king. Warrior warned Johnny that eleven guards were standing behind him. Johnny glanced at Sunny. She looked pale and weak and she too looked like a slave.

Well I guess this one isn't needed!” Roared Warrior.

He took out his knife and with one arm around Sunny had a dagger pointed at her neck. Rexor was horrified.

Forgive me Sunny,” Whispered Johnny.

Let her go!” Yelled Rexor clutching his chair.

Well she must be a slave too Rexor, and therefor I can do whatever I want with her,” Said Warrior.

You will let her go,” Growled Rexor.

Not until you destroy the slave trade,” Said Warrior.

There were times when Johnny had to tell Warrior to stay calm. It was bitter work to keep Rexor writing, Warrior had to push the knife against Sunny's neck to get Rexor to finish. Rexor stamped the document and handed it to his messenger. Warrior let Sunny go. Johnny walked out and all of the slaves went back to wherever they came from as free men, women and children.

The warrior self has worn off,” Growled Rexor.

I knew it, I’ll have to send him somewhere he'll never return from,” Said he.

So Rexor wrote out a letter and stamped it. He put it into a vault and walked away. In that vault was all his secrets. And no one knew the combination except him.
