Chapter 6: Dr. Smart And Mr. Always PlottingA Chapter by KornezChapter 6: Dr. Smart and Mr. Always plotting.
Johnny was amazed at all the questions he was pushed to answer by the Suns. It drove him crazy. The first thing the Suns asked johnny was: “How many did you kill?” Johnny cleverly picked a random number to make them go away. All the way to the palace, Johnny was asked how many Clouds he killed. He slammed the palace doors and was briefly given a moment of peace. “You usually like the crowd Warrior,” said king Rexor. Johnny glanced at Rexor. He had so many questions bubbled up in his mind, he didn't know what to say. “You have a assignment for me?” He finally asked. “For a moment I thought you might have been that brat,” said Regor. Johnny had to look away to conceal his anger. “Yes, I have a assignment for you, you have to go to the labs and retrieve the armor that Dr. Smart has been forging for you.” Said Rexor. Johnny strolled outside. “Calling me a brat,” Johnny muttered. “Who does he think he is?” Johnny found th lab. It was a giant boxed building built into the rock face. A bridge lowered and Johnny crossed it. It was a gap between a part of Sun city and the mountains beyond. “You must be Warrior,” said a man dressed in a lab coat and doctor's suit and goggles. He shook Johnny's hand with much enthusiasm. “Did you know that coal is just another fossilized rock?” asked the doc. “No I didn't,” Replied Johnny. “My name is Dr. Smart, this way please,” said he, ushering me to his lab. The whole place was a giant science exhibit. Dr. Smart toured Johnny though all the nook and cranes, he was rally a truly bright person. “My telescope,” said he showing Johnny a long spy glass. When Johnny looked into the glass, he saw the planet he yearned for. “Earth, haven't seen it since-” Johnny couldn’t continue. “Since you started fighting,” Said Dr. Smart grimly. “Yes, war can do that, slowly taking away your previous life and making you a monster,” said Dr. Smart. It seemed Dr. Smart knew a bit about everything! “Tell me, what do you know about the Clouds?” Asked Johnny. “Which ones?” Asked Dr. Smart. “The rain clouds or the warrior Clouds?” “Warrior,” Johnny replied. “The clouds came after the reign of Theolustis the second, they're really just what happens when some Sun citizens realize that this world is not worth living in, and that's the rebellion that was born when Cloudfyre, the current ruler now, launched a force that nearly destroyed Sun city. But something odd happened, it's not really clear, but historians weren't very skilled back then, and according to one account written by Sirus Sun, who lives today, he says that a bright flash of light knocked the Clouds away from Sun city and that's how the fortresses were born. The reason why the Clouds were able to take them back, was that Rexor didn't think to clearly about losses.” Dr. Smart re-accounted. Johnny was amazed. “Don't be surprised, I know loads, but beware my brother Ill knowledge, for he is able to take whatever you know and turn it into folly,” Said Dr. Smart. “Who's that guy down there?” Johnny asked pointing to a figure standing at Dr. Smarts door. “Hey, you, get off my land!” Shouted Dr. Smart. The figure threw a rock that broke one of Smart's windows. “Well if it isn't Mr. Always plotting,” Grumbled Dr. Smart. He grabbed Johnny and led him to what looked like an armory. A black suit of armor waited for them. “This is yours,” said Dr. smart. Johnny was surprised, just like light speed it was very weightless. “Yes, just like your sword, very light, but very strong,” Said Dr. Smart. He pushed Johnny out the door. “Now deal with that impertinent fiend,” Dr. Smart yelled slamming the door. Johnny slowly turned. A man with a pencil and what looked like a eternity of paper stood glancing and writing while muttering. All around him was a pile of papers of either thwarted or successful plans. “Hey, move over,” said he. “I'm trying to get a plan of that door,” said he. Johnny glanced at the door then at this odd guy. “I have a plot for you,” said Johnny. The man looked interested. “Leave now and never return, so I won't have to harm you, and you can plot again.” said Johnny. Mr. Always plotting didn't object. “Sounds cool,” said he walking away. “You left your notes,” said Johnny pointing. “Oh yeah,” The man laughed. “You didn't plot that one did you?” Asked Johnny. The papers all of the sudden ignited. “No, not another failed plan, NO.” Yelled Mr. Always plotting. He disappeared in a cloud of dust. Johnny walked back to Sun city without using light speed. “You look spot on,” said Joe grinning. “Thanks, but don't push it too for,” Said Johnny smiling. Grace had fixed up a nest and was preparing to rest. “Good night Johnny” She whispered. “Happy flights Grace,” said Johnny smiling. © 2016 Kornez |
