PastA Poem by 송지석 / Ji-SukIf this is an ashamed passion, I can't move forward anymore With no hopes either, it's despair Even the way of life I wanted can't return there anymore At the ends of naivete, real emotions I don't want to burn the past1 into the eyes1 of wandering mankind Even if the world were to end decades later if we change fate into our mission and even if we burden the original sin of long-ago let's carve in our prologue2 The torn up bonds will never again return to normal The truth is a trap, and that's reality A sacrifice for whom? I don't know anything anymore Ideals are the enemy, a surreal illusion I don't want to be cornered from rusted memories3 to ruin If the future4 changes thousands of years later knowing our fate is God's will Our demise will be the starting point continuing to the next again Let's talk about our tomorrow5 Even if the world were to end decades later if we change fate into our mission and even if we burden the original sin of long-ago let's carve in our prologue2 I originally wrote this in Japanese and there's word play! Here's the translations [1] - the kanji here actually means "burnt offering" but is sung as "past". Likewise, the kanji is written as "memories" but read as "eyes". [2] - the kanji here means "prologue/preface" but is read as "history" [3] - the kanji here means "curse/spell" but is read as "memory/ies" [4] - the kanji here means "the next world" but is read as "future" [5] - the kanji here means "chapter one/first chapter" but is read as "tomorrow" © 2018 송지석 / Ji-SukReviews
