You’re always putting on the tough guy act

While you refuse to show your tears

When really, underneath, you are afraid

You pray you never will lose

All the things you’re holding dear

You’ve been trying, desperately

To keep them safe

We’ve been through the worst of it, you and I

I look back on those terrifying and lonely nights we had

From this moment on,

You don’t need to hide away

When you are afraid,

Not anymore

Like a child, you keep on crying

Let the tears fall without holding back

Though I swore I never would lose the dearest thing to

It is you that I had nearly lost

Always scared of believing in people's words

I forgot what it felt like to cry

Like a child, I held you tightly

Let hold your hand in mine

It’s so easy to feel alone

Let me hear every thought

And worry in your heart

Like a child, you keep on crying

Let the tears fall without holding back
