WINDY TRAILS

WINDY TRAIL

this windy trail my feet walk

aren't lonely on this primal rock

my toes like roots cling to earth

each stone a step of nature's birth

swamps of mud or gnarled vine

can't trap lust for life confined

by social bench as prison wall

can't replace this wild call

someday I'll be a mountain line

or bird of prey chained to the sky

a crawling snake scaled in brown

or be the trail I walk down

I seen the light above the tor

cloaked in night's darkness door

as dust from stars throw cosmic hail

my feet still walk this windy trail
