Hear this song

A Poem by BlackLace

Strum this chord...
How is it one simple note can do so many things?

One note can bring passion so fierce,
It can flood even the largest dam.
It can make your pulse pound the
Rhythm of an African drum,
Enticing you to devour your beloved,
Savoring the tastes of their bodies wants.

One note can strike fear into your heart,
Numbing your every limb...
As if absorbing Ecstasy.

This one note can bring a smile to an innocent child's face.
Telling them a story of flowers,
And warm rays of sunshine.
Stories filled with happily ever after...
Promises of a bright future.

And yet this same note just as easily brings turmoil,
Both outer as well as within.

You have played this note on my heart...
Played it in many ways so I know you are able.
Why then have you tuned it to this crippling affliction?
Decaying my very soul from existence?

And I succumbed to what was brought forth as a treasured ballad.
Yet was a lie...

So what am I to you?
If not a sheet of precious chords...
Perhaps then I am naught.

Words and song. Both are part of our life and dreams. I like your poetry. Had a personal feel to the words and questions. I agree with the logic in the poem.
"So what am I to you?
If not a sheet of precious chords...
Perhaps then I am naught."
Hard to know the different sometimes. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Someone sure hurt you..I'm sorry for that..
Your subject matter was nice...the note.
Your summation was painful.
