Once You Were Not AloneA Poem by BlackLace
Walk alone in and unforgiving world,
By yourself feel the caress of the shadows. A black ink staining your skin. Look upward and dream, For once there was a sun... A promise for a new day and beginning, Hope for a better tomorrow. Oh, what a smile that sun could bring! And what warmth filled your heart. But now there is no sun. Just a fog settling over this hillside, A thick quilt, giving no warmth. Close your eyes and breathe in, Let the chill of a Lonely world enter your lungs. And as you continue your walk amongst the rested, The steady wind in the trees sings a melody To your aching heart. © 2013 BlackLaceReviews
