The writer looks out the window
At the brooding clouds above The raindrops drumming overhead Her mind clear of all thoughts Reminiscence came naturally A slow haze taking over her mind And although it did not faze her It did catch her unawares She smiled indulgently as she regarded The droplets skimming down the pane Tracing patterns in the fog before Coming to an end at the sill She watched while the sunlight Filtered through the beads of water That seemed so fragile, so sharp Yet so full of light She felt a strange sense of satisfaction A certain twisted sort of calmness She couldn't help but wonder Was this what it felt like to be happy?
