Run Away

Run Away

A Poem by Kohleen

Drunk on love and drunk on hate
I don’t think I can compensate
For all the things you have done,
For everything that has begun.
Lies so great they scream and shout,
Faces so afraid they cry and pout.
Drinking from the liquor bottle
Ready to drive and push the throttle.
Leaves of green whip past my eyes,
Knots so complicated, twisted ties.
The world spins by on a tilted wheel
Numbing all the things I feel.
But that's okay, I won't protest,
For I am only your teetering guest;
Not here to stay with you all night,
Or listen to your feeble fight.
