The Great BattleA Poem by Mike ColeWhat type of power
you got? Well you can’t
mistake the power that He’s got Being able to conquer
death and sin on a cross Breaking the bond
that death had over us That unmistakable
power The grace that was
brought From the price at
which we were bought Cause put up for
ransom My God paid it all He answered his bride
at the first call Cause we were slaves
to sin Just obsessing over
vain religion Forgetting that we
were slaves to this disposition SIN And the perfect lamb Striking fear into
the devil’s eyes Killing him and all
his power Bringing him to his
ultimate demise A demise from which
he could never recover Now God had won The battle was done We could never be
handed over to another Bringing peace to a
land of haters Those who spit in his
face We were the traitors But he called us his
children His beloved children Never again to be
burdened A people once lowly Were now gifted with
the Spirit Holy The rip in the
curtain shows proof A prophecy of years
before No longer considered
a spoof So that all the
nonbelievers could see The power in Christ’s
victory But that isn’t it That’s not the end He’s coming back And we will never
fully comprehend The joy we’ll feel
when he does descend The trumpet The white robe God’s Army! God’s Victory! His people finally
being called home © 2013 Mike ColeAuthor's Note
