Blood Stained Wood

Blood staining the wood
Crowds cheering for death
And to what is this man being accused?
Some say blasphemy
Some say for His world views
Some say because He claims to be the king of the Jews
That is preposterous
I've heard that this man has been performing miracles
Healing the sick
And driving out demons
Shouldn't He be able to overcome this foul treatment
Wrong!
That isn't the point
He made himself nothing
And with mankind on His mind
Took a death burdened with the sins of the world
And finally gave death the power originally designed
Zero
Because the ultimate sacrifice was finally paid
The perfect lamb slain
Jesus Christ lay in that tomb
Our connection with the Father could resume
And in 3 days He could rise to prominence
Having defeated death with one blow
Like a fountain His love could overflow
And consume everything around
And if that love is overflowing I choose to drown
