The Girl with a Healing Violin

The Girl with a Healing Violin

A Poem by Knoxxeh

The Girl with a Healing Violin

I see the world in photograph

Something different every time

Not exactly the same vision

That you and I designed

But then I met this girl

With a little violin

Said she could heal the world

By playing a song of peace

I never understood what she meant

I didn’t get the memo the world was broken

But if you say it is then fine

She smiled at the ground looking at the violin

“Not right now!” She said with excitement

“But one day you will need healing

My violin and I will help”

“Let me paint a picture.” she said

"This is the world of the future

One of death and misery

So you see the tree over there

It leaves are on and it looks full of life

This is how it is in the future"

I saw a tree with no leaves

A cloudy sky

And the essence of death but then the little girl

Laying on the ground face first in front of the tree

The violin next to her

“How will you heal the world if your dead?” I asked

She smiled and laughed as she looked at the photo

“I’m not dead, I’m crying.” I put the look of confusion on my face.

“I’m crying because I know I cant heal the world with my violin, but hope is what keeps me going that one day maybe that will change.”

Now when I see a picture of the world or of the future

I see the little girl with her violin

Playing the song of peace

Where all could hear and listen

And the world was peaceful even for just a moment.

This was magnificent!!!
Considering you wrote this in how long....half an hour and referencing a picture i'm stunned by the depth in the words and characters. The tone was well thought of...the girl mysterious and the persona curious and naive...

"“I’m crying because I know I cant heal the world with my violin, but hope is what keeps me going that one day maybe that will change.”"

That line really stuck out to me....The realization that reality cannot sometimes be overcome by good intention alone. DEEP! This was a wonderfully spun tale my friend...one i appreciated reading!

Excellent!
