You Made Me Better

It seems I was dumb founded

The first time I was with you

I didn’t really know you

The things you did

Or even how you acted

Were all new to me

Even though I let you go the first time

Somehow you made me better

 

But now I got my mind strait

Everything I saw before and more was there still

This time you know what I love it

It’s because of you that I’m who I am now

I’ve taken school more serious

Glued myself together from the pieces I once was

Because my future isn’t just me now it’s also you

Now, can’t you see, you made me better

 

Secrets aren’t even a problem

We tell each other everything

I feel so comfortable

I stare into your eyes

I can see everything that I love

Now I’m better than I’ve ever been

Because of you

A beautiful and strong poem of love. Love is many steps. Better to go in slow and easy to be able to enjoy ever event. I like how you told the story in the poem. Opening doors can be scary. Trusting someone is very hard. A very strong ending to a outstanding poem. Thank you.
