Our Brightest Light (Restored)

Our Brightest Light (Restored)

A Poem by Amanda Crandall
"

I wanted to get these reviews up for Luna's viewing pleasure.

"

The man of a thousand voices
Each sings a different tune
Each note precious and unique
No word casually strewn

You have given life to shadows
And in all of us, so much more
Cowboys, Knights, Angels, and Goddesses
Despite the tainted self reflections
we seem to adore

You have shown us your tribulations
With such beautiful, modest grace
Each visit to your realm teaches us more
That there are places in the stars
where we can take our place

You have never breached your character
Or stabbed the cat to save the dove
You taught me to trust the flow of my pen
And what God meant when he said
to your neighbor give your love

You have given me the courage
To leave the past behind
Robert, your words are the salve
To ease my troubled mind

Wow MMM. I am at a lost for words and you know that never happens. LOL First of all THANK YOU. I am completely flattered by this, this beautiful piece of art. You are such an amazing writer and inspiration to me continuously. I have never had anyone ever write anything about me. I am truly humbled by the words you say about me. To know I made an effect on someone is the greatest gift that I could ever receive. Thank you for your friendship and wonderful words of praise.

I liked this very much.
I especially liked the line, "stabbed the cat to save the dove," you should do more of this.

One whom you addressed your poem should feel himself happy.
Our life would be much better place to live in in case we all will have such attitude towards one other than you expressed your respect in your poetry.
Thank you. It was lovely to read your words.

Amanda, you are such a dear heart. What a kind thing you have done here, and so eloquently to boot!
Excellent rhyme about a friend you obviously adore!!

Well, I just had to stop by and see after reading your rejection story on Helen's story.

I would add another word to the "We seem to adore." line to make it flow a bit better when read aloud it is going from a 9 beat line to a 5 and the reader can get out of step for a moment. Other than that, this was a very nice poem. I see Robert around, but I don't think we cross paths too much.

Stabbed the cat to save the dove... I haven't heard that one before.

A wonderful tribute to a writer and friend. I have not read all the reviews... not into page turning. but i am sure that he was very happy with your affecting words. And not only is it a wonderful tribute but it is also a well written poem in its own right. In my mind there are no signs of fumblings. You are too modest my friend.

What a great tribute to an awesome writer. He like you has been so friendly at the cafe - and truly deserves the accolades. Kudos to you for recognising him and for the great work you yourself put out here.
