Apotheosis Rising

A short story of the assault from Scott!

Knoah fell to the earth in pain, bleeding from the mouth and nose. He felt the fatigue of the battle with Faith No More nearing it's bittersweet defeat. On the verge of losing everything, Knoah stood up as a tear rolled down his cheek as he knew what was coming next. Faith No More unsheathed his swords and launched his blazing sword forward with unprecedented speed and finesse. Gathering what strength he could, Knoah grasped the blade with his hands at the last moment and threw Faith No More into the ridged mountainside. Trying desperatly to get away in the few moments of oppurtunity he had, KNoah flew as far and fast as he could.

 

Knoah's vision blurred and his breathing became weaker as he began to fall from the sky to the ground below. Looking upwards at the stars in the sky above, he saw not just planets or stars, he saw utter beauty in the wonders of the cosmos. As his sight narrowed, he drew his last breath and all went black.

 

Knoah awoke to see images of blurs fighting off other blurs in heated combat. Eron came into focus as he kneeled down trying to get Knoah's attention. He could hear Eron shouting, "Is he okay?!" to Caledonia and D as they were tended to him medically. Caledonia's expression was grim as her lips moved in response, but he could not hear her. Knoah tried to focus and regain strength to speak, however his plight seemed to be winning the fight.

 

The entire armada of The Republic was on the battlefield scattered yet unwavering in their devotion to protect one of their own. Lilith and Xi'on lead the flank against The Horsemen to draw them away from Knoah so the others could get him away. However, The Horsemen were stubbornly strong and were not going down without a fight. Yet Xi'on had a trump card up his sleeve. Sending an Ionic Pulse straight into the air, he gave the signal to Von Helsing to launch the counter attack against The Horsemen. Caught off guard, The Horsemen were easily pushed back into retreat with the Ionic pulse Xi'on had mastered, as well as Lilith's genius of luring The Horsemen into a bottleneck forcing them to go the way they wanted them to run to.

 

Destiny and BAt Man arrived in the Daedulus to airlift KNoah off the battlefield. One shot that BAt Man had intentionally fired at Faith No More's chest had ironicly blasted him right in the face. Yelling "Bulls-eye!" and throwing a fist in the air, Destiny laughed at the villain, who was disoriented from the blast. However, Faith No More rebounded quickly and used his Chains of X-Mas Miser to disable the Daedulus's engines forcing it to crash into the ground below.

 

Thinking quickly, Eron and D looked at KNoah and then at Faith No More. Giving a nod to each other, they told Caledonia to teleport Knoah out of there while they held Faith No More off. Caledonia placed her hand over Knoah's chest, but instead of teleporting away some kind of discharge went off sending out a shock wave that put everyone on their knees.

 

Knoah's sight went bright with light, almost blinding. He heard a faint voice in the distance say, "Arise. Apotheosis. Arise from your embers. Save your people from the chaos you brought them and then shall you find the forgiveness you seek."

 

As his sight restored, Knoah hovered off the ground being surrounded by a blue spiritual like aura that changed his clothes and armor to a new-like state. Sprouting three more wings from the lower back he seemed almost ascended from what he was before. Knoah felt power surge through him like a conduit, almost uncontrollable. The others simply stared in awe as an eleventh hour save unfolded before them. Bringing his arms and feet into his body, Vexator managed to utter Knaoh's name out loud in almost a terrified, yet subtle manor, as Knoah lifted his head saying "My Name is Apotheosis. I am and always will be the leader of my family." Knoah built up all the energy he could into one concentrated beam. He threw open his arms and legs like a eagle in full spread, launched a whole new attack straight into Faith No More and delivered a critical blow to the villain. Wasting no time, the others threw everything the could at Faith No More to bring him to his knees.

 

However, Faith no More threw a smoke bomb to the ground and shouted, "This is not over you pathetic weaklings. You have not seen the last of me!"

 

Knoah simply replied "I hope I do, so I may end the battle I started."
