Where the Flowers BloomA Poem by Knightingale
Marigolds and roses
never wilted always blooming amongst lilacs and green leaves and your smile consuming the heart of a child who believes the flowers always bloom. The window panes of this flower shop view your father's bookstore just across the block; where you smile from over the dog-eared pages of another world. I remember the summer we ran to the West Sea because you believed there were brighter shades of green and I believed there the flowers always bloomed. And when we were older the West Sea became for you University grounds and for me French coastal towns where I found the flowers in bloom. But too soon they grew weak wilted and died; petals falling on the cheek of a girl who cried because she couldn't keep them alive though she tried though she tried. © 2013 KnightingaleAuthor's Note
