Flowered HatA Poem by KnightingaleA poem...
The faded green paint
upon these walls of photographs in shades of faint memories that call me back to smiles and laughs... reminds me of summers when we were young; under a newborn sun in your green dress in green fields of sunflowers and oak trees beneath starry skies in star-lit dreams. And while the paint is faded in our small flat your smile has not lost any power; shaded beneath your flowered hat in that green dress you just bought these early summer hours make me wonder. To the first time I saw that smile as a young child wild and carefree; in my mother's flower shop how you stopped and stared at me an ocean storm and a summer breeze. You're nearly dressed now asking me if you look okay. I smile and kiss your lips there's nothing left to say. © 2013 Knightingale |
