I miss how blind I was back then

I miss how blind I was back then
at least I knew I was happy

I miss the way I believed every word
you said, you got into my head and
you knew it well as I soon fell

I miss how I could see your face and my heart
would pound and begin to race, just one smile
and  I was then in  a downward spiral

My love for you I then thought was fate now
I know way too late that I was blind by my own
messed up state I saw what I wanted to see and
made something that I wanted to be

I miss how blind I was back then
at least I knew I was happy
