Fade Away

Fade Away

A Poem by K-mo

My love for you is slowly fading away and all that's left is memories of you

I hate the constant reminders of what we once had, it hurts me and makes

me real sad, I know what we had was real but you chose to let it go and for

what I will never truly know

I sometimes think I see your face, far off in a crowded room, I hear

a song that you used to play and hear phrases and things you would

always say but I got to do what I can to let these memories fade away

You moved on and so should I, I had enough tears to cry and now it's my

time to say good bye to what is now holding me back and that is thoughts

of you and I getting back together, I know in the end it is for the better

Not exactly what I was expecting to find here. That isn't a bad or good thing, it just is. The phrasing and the language is simple and to the point. That works for this piece. The last line isn't my favorite and the middle stanza is my favorite, it sounded the best in there.
Nice work.

You've expressed the loneliness of longing for someone no longer yours very well. Well done.

This is why I always carry an eraser with me when I meet new people. If it doesn't work out between us then I write it in a journal and then erase it. My mind.. the journal.. tomorrow is a new day. Thanks for reminding me, K-mo.
