Tears fall to the earth and leave a puddle
big enough to drown all signs of happiness
no evidence is to be found unless you dig
down deeper than anyone has ever tried

Lying here waiting for the ski to fall
just to feel just about anything at all
Pain would be welcome just to show
me that I have any feelings at all even
if it makes me feel small

Where were you when I felt all alone?
You told me you loved me and wanted
me as your own, but why did you not
even pick up the phone? Now I am left
here to cry  alone and fight these demons
that leave me empty inside
