Who I am and Where I have been

Surrounded but all alone
can't fight these feelings
on my own, why am I stuck
in this mess called a war zone?

Can someone save me
Can you hear my cries?
Is this the end, is this good bye?

I wave goodbye to what I know
in search of something that I know
but the farther I go the farther I am
in the hole

I don't know what happened to my soul
I long for some sort of happiness, that's my
goal

I don't want to fight this on my own
will you come and save me from what
I became? Or will you leave me here to
die, to be slain by all the enemies inside
my head

I need the strength to go on, to know
that this isn't the end, that my thoughts
can really be my friends if I just believe
in who I am and where I have been

Ok just read the first line of the third stanza over and it doesn't make sense, or am I wrong?
