The Cows Are Gone

The Cows Are Gone

A Poem by Klyn
"

Tis the season the dairy farm behind my house becomes empty. And as the air becomes less pungent, I can't get past the thoughts of their horrible fate...

"

Grazing in the pasture

I see them run in the sun

On lazy afternoons

With a simple life of order

And a number

Someday to be the one

And now the field is empty

The grass is overgrown

The silence overwhelming

Now the cows are gone.

I am looking out the window of my room across hills covered in cows... seeing the gentle beauty that sings in the first lines of your poem.. feeling the sadness that flows through the empty fields of the last.. Brilliant glimpse.
