Residents of ParadiseA Poem by KarliA more intense poem than I normally write. I'm in the zone tonight. :)Residents of Paradise
Today, a bird flew higher than it was meant to, Past trees, past clouds, past the comfort of our Earth. This bird was called a spirit, a spirit full of life, and love. God seemed to love these birds the best, so he brought them home. Today, a bird resides in paradise, and has been granted their wings. Let them soar.
Here in the depth of the universe, we wait, We wonder, when will God call us home to paradise? Inside our hearts, we know that the bird had not fallen… But had been lifted higher than our minds could imagine. Beyond the rolling clouds in the midst of the storm, The Golden sky shelters God’s children as they arrive home. Let them go.
As tear drops rain down the cheeks of everyone that bird loved, We envy them, for they are safe, they are happy. Here, we are trapped in the silence of our empty hearts, Curled into ourselves as we weep, we mourn, we know we will heal. Today, the bird knows we will all soon be together again, God’s family will join as one!
As the time passes, we soon will heal. The silence of our empty hearts will again be filled with joy, with noise, We will live on, until the day God calls us home. Do not waste it, do not be foolish. Someday, we will all be together in Heaven, God’s family joining as one.
