See that sun peeking over the trees,

But Momma, I’ll sleep as much as I please.

So please don’t wake me up from this slumber,

Daddy’s workin hard on hickory lumber,

But I just want some peace.

 

He left me broken in the middle of the night,

His smile leaving my sugar coated sight.

I walk in my sleep, fallin down stairs,

Let’s just see how much you care,

Now that you’ve got your own life.

 

I know, that you miss me more than life,

There is no end to all our strife,

Now that you’ve made up your pathetic mind.

Well, baby, you’re not one of a kind,

The next one will show up at my doorstep soon.

 

Well baby, the wind’s set in tonight,

Out the window, there’s a flyin kite,

Looking for it’s way back home…

Why did it ever try to roam?

Reminds me of your footsteps leading away from me.

Millions of years out there so far…

As the night comes to a blissful end,

Lightens up this dark, dead night,
