Witnessing RainA Chapter by KarliMy lyric poem for English class!I gaze out the window, witnessing rain. The silver drops inviting, I desire to go out. Clear water hits the weak window panes, I savor the moment, an end to this drought. I do recall now, the feel of the rain, the clear puddles out in the streets. I'm not much for dancing, but this is my gain, the rain I shall meet. So I tiptoe to the door, venture out into the life. The porch my only shore, the coldness my new strife. The trees are fresh, dancing in the wind. I feel playful deep inside, for the first time that night, I grinned, for the first time that night, I cried. Emotions run high, as I pace through the storm, my overwhelming life lets loose, this flawless night, I dance til I'm worn. This perfect night, I use. I'm sent into the deepest trance. Louder, mightier, the storm bellows, I allow myself to leap. The wind and rain play music like a cello, otherwise, I do not hear a peep. I dance around, twirling away, my feet march to their own beat. This is a wondrous night, as the Earth and water meet. The dark-as-night sky lights, fire bolts striking all around. I listen in the night, To thunder's lion-roaring sound. I'm wonderstruck, stranded in the center, don't try to rescue me, for I'm the rejecter. The rain quiets down, I trudge my way home. My thoughts make no sound, for my soul was able to roam. I sit at home... watching the ending. I gaze out the window, witnessing rain. © 2011 KarliAuthor's Note
