From AfarA Poem by KarliI haven't written much poetry lately. From afar, I am still able to dream. From afar, you live your life, as I do not exist to you, from afar, you do not need me. From afar, I can love you without heartache... From afar, I am still able to dream.
Together, we are joyous as July fireworks, sparks igniting somewhere deep within. Together, I can feel the gentleness of your hold, Together, I can hear your whispers of love. Together, we are joyous as July fireworks.
Too close, we become afraid, too close, we simply aren't ready. Too close, our love is too much to handle, too close, you leave me stranded in the darkness. Too close, we become afraid.
Separate, things only seem easier, separate, my heart shatters, a failure at love. Separate, the rain mimicks my tumbling tears, Separate, the storm brews in my soul. Separate, things only seem easier.
Without you, I'm devoid of any joy, without you, my heart decays, for it is dead. Without you, comfort is nowhere to be found. Without you, I am cripple. Without you, I'm devoid of any joy.
From afar, no pain can stir, From afar, there is no need to leave. From afar, we are not afraid, From afar, I love you with no boundaries. From afar, I am still able to dream... © 2011 KarliAuthor's Note
