Heaven on Earth

A little piece about my absolute favorite place in the whole world. <3

Morning creeps through the trees,

birds awakening me with bliss.

I take my first step outside,

my bare feet are content against the grass.

Children laughing and yawning,

the world at a stand-still.

No worries,

no pain.

God's truly touching you.

 

 

The day passes,

my stomach aches of laughter.

Everyone is my family,

in the true presence of God.

As I gaze at my surroundings,

children dance among the area.

A permanent smile strikes my face,

keeping me in perfect happiness.

 

The end of the day nears,

I'm perfectly alright.

The sun dims,

the moon peeks through.

Everyone laughs and talks,

not worrying about a thing.

I lie in bed that peaceful night,

and just listen.

I hear the breath of my family,

the breath of God.

I feel the cool air caress me,

the stars gaze down.

As I drift into a perfect slumber,

my mind is at rest.

God's presence is among me.

 

Author's Note

Okay, so, not many people say that summer camp is their favorite place. When you go to the camp I go to, everyone says it. it's a Christian camp, and has made me such a strong Christian. I have a ton of love in my heart because of it, and it's the only place I'm genuinely happy. I just hope this poem shows that.
