What Have I Done?

I released you from my grasp.

You've fleed my path.

Why did I let you go?

I didn't fight for you.

We were in love,

so deep,

so right.

I've forgotten the feeling of happiness.

If I could,

I'd erase that night.

We'd take comfort in each other once again.

I would be safe in your embrace.

We'd walk on the beach,

and dance in the rain.

What Have I Done?

I rid myself of the most amazing thing,

never will I be the same.

I'm fixing it now.

If you refuse me, I understand.

All I'm asking for is a chance.

Love awakens my eyes,

to the amazing world ahead.

Walk this path with me once again.

I know What I've Done,

and I'm taking responsibility.

Standing here in front of you,

Swallowing my pride,

Allowing the world to view,

I'm sorry.

Please accept me.

You still love me, don't you?

Having someone and then letting them go or loosing them just to find out that you do love them and want them back was so very well expressed in this poem! Great emotion flowing through!
