Unmade promises

Unmade promises

A Story by Kittywhiskers

And in that moment she realized just how much she loved him. Even if he would never love her the way he once had, she would wait, and maybe one day he would love her again. She had once told herself that she no longer loved him, only to find out that it was just a lie. A coping mechanism to get through the mess she had created. A way to forget the guilt and the pain. But now she accepted it all. She wanted to love, but the thing she would never tell anyone was that she wanted to be loved. She knew it wasn't because she needed validation from a guy, but because his love made her feel happy and warm. But every time she remembered this feeling it brought her deep sadness, for it was her fault that she no longer had this warmth, and it was her who broke him. And now she realized that she would never get the chance to tell him face to face that she loved him, and she would never be held by him or kiss him the way they once had. She would never walk home angrily knowing that he was the only one who could calm her down. She remembered that she had cut their love so short that they hadn't gotten to give each other Christmas presents or be each other's Valentine's. She thought about the promises that they never made and how she ruined it all. She ruined the best thing that had ever happened to her
