Emotionless

He was the only one I trusted, now I don’t trust anyone

"
For a year he was more a friend to me than my mother, he was like a giant kid. I trusted him, now I never will. I was home alone and heard a knock. Not a fast knock not a slow knock, but a knock that seemed to shake my bones. It was a friendly looking lady with her hair up in a bun and a pantsuit on. She requested to see my parents, and I told her they were not here. She seemed to push herself through the door so I invited her in.She treated me like a child talking about inappropriate areas and how they should be respected. As quick as light I realized what she was referring to, her seeming to understand she explained about the man I had trusted. Trusted to call, sleep in the same bed with, play video games with, the guy that I asked my mom to keep around. He was a monster she told me, but how can such a friend be a monster? How could someone I loved so much be such a bad thing? My head seemed to break. It shattered. I no longer trusted anyone, no longer felt emotion. I turned it off. I made myself forget seven years. I found a way to forget the breakage by building a wall in my mind, by making the emotions dissolve. No sadness, fear, anger, but with that there is also no happiness.

So messed up when we find out that those we trust and not to be trusted. I assume that this woman was in a relationship with him in the past? Better to know than suffer the consequences that's for sure. Honest and real writing, great job.
