She Lies

Why can't I just be happy??

Everyone asked her if she was okay, 

She said yea,

She was fine.

They asked how she got those cuts on her arms,

She said she slipped on rocks.

They said they could read her phony smile,

She said it wasn't fake.

She is afraid of the truth.

To her,

It's like Hell.

A hungry abyss,

Waiting to swallow her whole.
