The way I see it chapter 1

A Story by Kitty

Chapter one: I am The Shadowed Girl.

I don’t see normally but I’m not blind.

Once upon a time there was a girl who didn’t function properly.  People have come up with a million theories for why this human refused to see things as they were. Don’t get me wrong, she was completely in tuned with reality. Yet whatever it was that affected her caused her to see people and some places as metaphors.

That girl happens to be me. Hi.

I like to call myself the shadowed girl, it’s just the way I see it.

I don’t mean to repeat myself but it’s how I see most people. It’s just easy to remember everything that way I guess. Everyone is saying there’s something wrong with me…. But the way I think helps me… they just don’t understand.

I guess I should carry on with introductions, please call me shadowed. I’m an average fifteen year old…. Well appearance wise. Anyway I’m five foot five. My hair is down to my mid back and I’m made a shadows and darkness.

My skin is pure black and I like to keep my clothes in the dark greys while my hair colour almost comes out. My eyes are pure silver for a bit of contrast, my mouth is the same but I don’t use it often so I keep it hidden. I suppose my figure is curvy and would grab lots of attention if it weren’t for my horrid face, hence why I hide it under the baggy sweaters, pants and shirts. I’m not trying to be cute I’m trying to be hidden and comfy.

Now that I have that done, on with everything else.

I’m in grade ten for now, since that’s will be changing soon it’s almost the end of the year.

I have a few friends but not a lot. I don’t like fashion, I don’t like boy bands, I don’t like gossip, I don’t like sports, and I don’t like talking. Therefore that gives everyone the right to hate me.

I know they don’t, they know they don’t. Yet they act that way. All it takes is one person to spit something into someone’s ear and suddenly everyone is regurgitating the same lies.

I think they all need to see a crazy doctor but since most people are doing that it’s the people who don’t do it who are messed up in the head.

I get up to go grab some new clothes to wear for the day. Since pajamas aren’t allowed at school.

I grabbed a pair of grey yoga pants and a matching sweater and slide them on.

Next came the brushing in the bathroom, first my hair than my teeth.

My lunch was already in my bag so I went outside to wait.

It’s supposed to come at seven thirty but because the owner is…. Dense at the nicest, it comes at eight.

Just on late time the yellow snake slithers down the hill and pauses in front of me. It opens the mouth on the side of its head to let me in.

I see the license give me a smile as I walk past its body, three seats from the center of the stomach I sit.

It’s quiet enough here. I can listen to my music. I like that.

The snake lurches as it races off once again. I hate that.
