Sky

Sky

A Poem by Arianne Goldbloom

I sit alone

Cradled

By the boughs of the evergreen

Watching the sunset

As the red

Lifeblood of day

Is spilled

By lady night

Black

The color of darkness

And despair

Behold though

The pinpricks

In the sky

Through which

The heavenly light

Does shine

Keeping light in our hearts

'Til the sun slays the night

And day

Is born again.
