A Life SharedA Poem by Rouillie WilkersonPoem about love, sharing and togethernessA life shared Sit with me, oh melting bliss, Like a kiss of chocolate in the hot sun Speak to me, with finger-tips and parted lips. Share with me, you. Lay with me, and watch the sky when calming clouds remind us of possible peace Our minds releasing forced hope Hold me like silk shivering upon the skin, sliding beneath your caress. Sup with me. We’ll share a meal or a mint. With hands,
teeth, tongue and lips. I’ll watch you eat, you’ll indulge me in this way. Sometimes lust is a flavor. Finish with me, our fingers entwined. A tangle of hair beneath your palms. The smell of earth given form, and a consensus to rule the earth, thrust into the waves of our origins. Listen with me, to the hum of the pressure-turgoring trees, and to the lopping of rain, splashing into quivering puddles,
with slow, gentle, thumps. Like a life shared, our togetherness, dynamic, trusting the
time we’ve been given. © 2024 Rouillie WilkersonAuthor's Note
