So long

So long

A Poem by Kitchu

So long has it been

since your sun I’ve seen

that the blood woven in the clouds

at last leaks like languid rivers

So long has it been

since I’ve last committed any sin

that it just makes me wonder

if hell is truly without blaze and thunder

just a barren world that all I’ve known enshrouds

and makes it cold and dark and without motion

just a sea made of curios, a bottomless ocean

therein dimly do I see the cube, the statue, and the book

timeless tokens drifting

that I’ve never forsook

I just wonder, sometimes

if there is atonement for these crimes

maybe I’ll find out soon

maybe I won’t dim crossing this monsoon

So long has it been

yet somehow… the gaze and grin

are frozen in time

eternal and sublime
