Drowning Waters

Drowning Waters

A Poem by Kita Capri
"

A girl drowning in water

"

Caught beneath the ocean’s blue.

Called your name and you pulled me through.

But as I rose, the waves, they grew

And again, they caught me too.

This time you stood and all well knew

That I couldn’t breathe under all that blue.

So deeper I went and the quieter my screams got,

I called your name

But you were long gone.

I yelled for help

But no one came.

My vision became dark and my body sank.

People passed by without a second glance.

I stopped trying

And opened my eyes.

My vision was filled with pure white.

The drowning waters of life which pull us down from time to time is finely penned and excellently depicted in this poem, Kita. Sometimes life can be overwhelming! If we are not strong enough to float on the river of life, we begin to sink and if we sink we drown. There isn't always someone there to pull us out and save us. It is best to save ourselves by not entering the river of life, taking no chances and letting go of everything which would weigh you down. It is not easy to do that, Kita. But, it is well worth the effort. Wonderful use of metaphor! Feelings well expressed and very poetically too! Great write! Thank you for sharing...

The pain of letting go when you don’t want to but needs to. I know it all too well the lifelike emotional rollercoaster the actual feeling of drowning as you lose a piece of yourself a little more.

Thank you for your words🤎🧡
