Straight From The Belly

Straight From The Belly

A Poem by Kirsty Woodward

humans live for connections.

physical contact is merely an option

but give me someone

who

talks about their soul

their darkened corners

art

the universe

what brings them to life

what burns, burns, burns

someone who will smash their fists

on the table

when passion takes over

the one who will open up

their palms

for me to read like a book

talk about your god

rip yourself open and

pour yourself over my kitchen table

and i’ll sit, playing with your hair whilst you do so.

I wish I wasn't so tired. This deserves so much of my time. This is so true..
I wish I could make copies of this & pass them out for everyone to read.
This is just "right." This perspective. I can identify with this and it is nice because I don't get to experience that [identifying] often.

I'm honoured, Phoenix. Thank you.
i love this...yes, that person who is totally him or herself around us...the one with no pretenses or facades...

burn with passion, burn with life, be real...

and i will set the table for two.
