Morning Thoughts

A Poem by Kirsty Woodward

Mornings are full of hope,

sometimes.

Moaning sweet nothings in my ear.

I've always thought it funny how the word moaning is generally used to signify the sound of opposites. You're good at letting your stuff breathe. "Moaning sweet nothings" wouldn't have landed as soundly as it does if it was punched up there with the other two. Poetry is life distilled, I read once. Like this.

I love poems that are short but leave the reader with thought. Nice one!

Beautifully poised...such connection and the simple things make all the difference, lovely :)
