Fixer FriendshipsA Poem by Kirsty HignettA short poem about those friendships that perhaps don't last long in person- but last a lifetime in our hearts. The friends that help make a person who they are.
Sometimes; people enter your life,
And for one short moment they shed a light. On all the things you normally miss out, While you cower in the shadow of doubt. These people stay, not often long, And help to fix the things that are wrong. They put your confidence back together, And lead you out of harsher weather. They put you back on life's main track, And gently guide your journey back. To things you may have desired before, Or maybe to new paths ready to explore. When you find someone who does this stuff, Please be sure to show them love. aside from all the things they do, Understand that they are human too. Don't take advantage of their nature, A person pushed far can learn to hate ya. Cherish their friendship, show them care, Prove to them that you too, are there. Once they leave, their job is done, But that doesn't mean the end of fun. Because what you are left is a friend so dear, No matter where they go, they are still near. Sometimes; people come into your life, And for one short moment, they shed a light. When they go, the light may fade, But in our heart, the memories remain. © 2022 Kirsty HignettAuthor's Note
